Hope For Paws, an animal rescue organization, received a call about a little dog who had been hiding underneath a propane cabinet at a gas station.
The person who called sent them a picture so that rescuers would be able to identify where the dog was.
The rescuers put a fence around the area before they approached the dog, so that she wouldn’t be able to run away from them if she tried.
They then reached under the propane cabinet and tried to pull her out, but she was so tightly wedged under there that it was hard to get her out.
There wasn’t much room, so they used a metal pole to hold up the propane cabinet so they could safely pull her out without her shoulders getting stuck.
Once they finally got her out, she resisted and tried to get out of their grip because she was terrified, and rightfully so.
They gently pet her to slowly gain her trust and to let her know that they were there to help her and not hurt her.
Once she calmed down, they put the leash on her and lifted her up. They drove her to the clinic to get her examined.
She had very long eyelashes, so they named her Sephora. They scanned her for a microchip, but unfortunately she didn’t have one. They gave her a much-needed bath, and she was already looking so much better. She even started wagging her tail!
Sephora’s rescuer fostered her for the next week while trying to find her possible owner. She searched all of the lost-and-found pet websites and eventually found her family!
Her family came to pick her up, and their reunion was absolutely heartwarming. They were so relieved to have their dog back, and she was just as happy to see her humans again.
This pup and her family got very lucky to reunite, but not all stories have this happy of an ending. This is why it is extremely important to microchip your pets!
