Shelter Posts Pictures Of ‘World’s Worst Cat’ In Hopes Of Finding Her A New Home

“Perdita, we thought she was sick, turns out she’s just a jerk.”

The staff at Mitchell County Animal Rescue in Spruce Pine, North Carolina, doesn’t have anything nice to say about Perdita the cat. In fact, they’ve labeled her the “world’s worst cat.”

All kidding this kitty aside, the shelter is going to great lengths to express just how hard Perdita is to live with. Her interests include, “staring into your soul until you feel as if you may never be cheerful again,” “lurking in dark corners” and “fooling shelter staff into thinking she’s sick.”

On top of that, she does not car for kittens, dogs or kids, and simply despises being snuggled.

MCAR staff want to be sure that Perdita’s next owner knows what they are getting into. Perdita is already house-trained, spayed, and vaccinated, she’s just a little rough around the edges.

Perdita isn’t exactly a cuddler.

“She pretends like she wants you to pet her and love on her,” office manager Brittany Taylor told People. “As soon as you pick her up, she starts growling. She will swat you. She’s just all-out awful.”

As the shelter puts is, Perdita is “not for the faint of heart,” but she may be for someone, which is why MCAR has even waived her adoption fees.
