‘World’s Most Interesting Man’ is Raising Money For Animal Foundation

If you watch TV from time to time you may be familiar with the “World’s Most Interesting Man.” The persona was created and made famous by Dos Equis beer commercials, but do you know anything about the man behind the ad? Jonathan Goldsmith, the actor in those commercials, is revealing a bit about himself through his work with animals. According to the Associated Press, he is raising funds for Denver-based Morris Animal Foundation.

Goldsmith announced his support for the foundation with a online commercial featuring his Anatolian shepherd Willy, according to the source. The video highlighted the need to combat canine cancer and was made by sporting goods supply retailer The Orvis Company.

“The health of animals, especially dogs is important to me, ” Goldsmith said in a statement. “The opportunity to help the Morris Animal Foundation in their efforts and also work alongside Willy was hard to resist. I’m glad to help and I hope people like the spots as much as we enjoyed filming them.”

The nonprofit invests in science research that advances veterinary medicine to benefit dogs, cats, horses and wildlife. Since the organization was founded in 1948, the group has invested $70 million in more than 2,000 research studies that lead to breakthroughs in animal health care treatment.
