Dog Sets Guinness Book Of World Records With 6 Tennis Balls In His Mouth

There is just something about the love a dog has for tennis balls that touches our hearts. It seems as if there is at least one golden retriever, Finley, who loves them to the extreme.

Finley is a six-year-old dog that has a unique talent: He can fit 6 tennis balls in his mouth at one time. According to the Guinness World Records, the current record holder is Augie from Texas. Interestingly, Augie is also a golden retriever.

In July 2003, Augie made it into the Guinness World Records by putting five tennis balls in his mouth.

Cheri and Rob Molloy are Finley’s human parents and they have been trying to get his unique talent into the Guinness World Records. Making it official, however, is not the easiest thing to do, so they are still working through the long process.

Finley may not yet to be in the record books, but it doesn’t mean that he isn’t busy. In fact, he has his own Instagram account.

More than 29,000 followers are already eagerly awaiting any new posts by Finley.

“The joy he brings to us is one thing,” Cheri told the Democrat & Chronicle. “But he brings joy to people all over the world.”

You can see videos of Finley holding six tennis balls in his mouth on his Instagram account. You can also watch him enjoying life in a way that only a golden retriever can.

Finley and his human family hail from Canandaigua, New York. Not only is he able to get all six of those balls in his mouth but he doesn’t need any help to do so. Finley is a natural, and he started developing his rare talent when he was only two years old.

“I look over and he’s trotting over to me with four tennis balls in his mouth,” said Cheri and Rob’s daughter, Erin, according to People Magazine. Finley came home with Erin when he was only 10 weeks old. He may have started out with four tennis balls, but now he has worked his way up to six.

The Democrat & Chronicle said that Finley is the best-behaved dog the family has ever had. Cheri added, “He lives the life of a king.”

I love to write and it keeps me busy. I've been working online, full time since 1999.
