Service Dog Grows Giddy With Joy After Spotting Canine Character At Disney World

Henry is a service dog and very good boy who helps his human, Jessica Paulsen, manage her postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, a chronic condition that causes an accelerated heart rate and increased risks of dizziness and fainting.

“I thought becoming physically ill meant I had to give up every dream I ever had,” Paulson wrote on her website, Henrythehelper.com. “Not only has my service dog, Henry helped me to follow my dreams but also regain the independence I once lost. Together we are educating the world on the lives of working dogs and their handlers.”

But Paulsen also believes her hardworking pooch deserves some downtime. As a working dog, Henry is supposed to remain calm and attentive whenever he’s on the job, but his human was willing to make an exception to this rule when the pair encountered Henry’s doggie hero on a trip to Disney World.

Fortunately, Paulsen captured this adorable encounter on video, which you can watch below. The video depicts a very excited Henry wagging his tail and rushing right over to the costumed canine, Dug, who is clearly his favorite character from Pixar’s 2009 film, Up.

Nor was Henry going to let Dug get away without getting a fan photo. After greeting the costumed dog and his friend Russell with some wet doggie kisses, the excited pooch flopped down between the pair and posed for a picture.

“Furiends, please note that Henry is a working dog but Disney days are long and character meets are a great reward for all of Henry’s hard work,” Paulsen wrote in the caption, which quickly gathered thousands of likes on Instagram.

“I [love] this so much!! Dug is one of my fave characters and to see @kinghenryofnashville with him just makes my heart explode!” one user responded.

We couldn’t agree more! Congratulations, Henry, on meeting your doggie hero!
