Violet was in horrible shape. Her skin was sunburned, and she had maggots eating away at her flesh. Thankfully, they were able to nurse her back to health and she is now doing so much better.
Violet is still very skittish and nervous. If someone raises their hand or moves fast, she ducks and cowers. This leads rescuers to believe that she may have been abused in her past. But of course this is nothing they can’t fix. Violet will continue to get all of the love and care in the world and soon she will be fully trusting of humans again. She is learning to trust more each day and is becoming more comfortable.
After being chained up her whole life, she can now finally enjoy her life and be a real dog. She loves going for walks, snuggling with her blanket, and she even got her first real toy.
Once Violet is ready, she’ll be available for adoption. If you’re interested in adopting Violet and giving her a forever home, please click here to contact NMDOG rescue.
