Ukrainian Firefighters Rescue Puppy From War-Torn Street And Make Him Mascot Of Fire Station

Emergency workers were searching through the rubble in the Kiev district of Kharkiv after heavy shelling by the Russians and found a puppy.

Firefighters in Kharkiv adopted him and named him “Bayraktar”, but everyone calls him “Bai”. The sweet pup brings comfort and joy to the firefighters and guards the station when the crew is out on a call.

The State Emergency Service (SES) of Ukraine posted the good news of Facebook and shared that the puppy is paid in a salary of sausages and goodies. He doesn’t have an official title yet, but he is the mascot of the fire station.

Just like other puppies, he does enjoy nibbling on coats, boots, or anything he can get his mouth on.

“The fire department employee has significantly increased in height and weight in two months. Every day Bai learns to work in the fire and rescue department. So far, he manages to guard the object entrusted to him well. When the combat guard promptly leaves the scene, the dog escorts them with its barking and gladly welcomes them when they return back,” SES shared.

The fluffy pup is already bringing smiles to the faces of everyone he meets and is settling into his new home. People from around the world thanked the heroes for rescuing Bai and commented on how adorable he is.

One person wrote, “Well done, guys! Now you have both your bodyguard, and a friend, and a doctor-antistressologist.”

Another said, “He’s so adorable! 💗 Such a sweet story. I love a happy ending!”
