Officials Are Warning That A ‘Serial Cat Killer’ Is On The Loose

Anybody with a cat in their family will tell you that they enhance our lives in so many different ways.

Regardless of whether they are sitting on our lap or acting like they don’t need us around, we love having them in our home.

Perhaps that is why so many people are upset over a potential cat killer that has already struck 15 different times in the same area.

It started on June 27, 2022, when two healthy cats, Narla and Cash were found dead within 24 hours of each other. They were found in the backyard of Natasha Hardman’s home. They had already lost a cat earlier in the year after she died of unknown causes.

Now that three of her cats had died, the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is investigating what is taking place and asking nearby cat owners to pay attention.

Natasha used her Facebook account to speak out about the situation and warn other cat owners in the area. She wanted them to know that some sick individual was poisoning the cats.

She said:

“Police and RSPCA are now involved. If you have had a cat poisoned in the last year please get in touch so I can give you crime number. The more owners that report this the beter the investigation. I have lost two in two days!”

One of the inspectors for the RSPCA, Beth Boydhas, also spoke out by means of a statement. According to a UK Animal Cruelty Files Facebook post, she said:

“These incidents appear to have been going on for a long time, but there seems to have been a spike in them at the moment. These are young, healthy cats who are turning up dead in their own gardens – it is horrendous.”

She said that Narla and Cash had no signs of injuries on the day that they died, although both were salivating. Lulu, on the other hand, had a piece of meat when she came home that had a bright blue powder on it. She didn’t eat it before they were able to take it away.

They had buried Narla and Cash quickly so they weren’t able to establish the reason for death. They also have not identified the blue powder but they think it is rat poison.

Natasha thinks that the cat murderer may have been around for a few years because of other animals that had died due to mysterious reasons a few years ago.

She said that 15 of her cats had died in the past 11 years, many dropping dead without explanation. Others have been found by people in the area.

Boyde said in the statement: “One neighbour says she has lost three cats in the last two years, one was never found and the other two turned up dead in her garden. Another neighbour told me over the space of 20 years six of her cats had turned up dead and she recalled around 12 cats dying suspiciously in a two-week period about four years ago.”

She thinks that someone is targeting cats in the area because a number of healthy cats have died and there were no visible injuries.

She, along with authorities, are warning people to keep a close eye on what is going on and to watch their cats carefully.
