A horse gave birth at her owner’s farm and then was referred to the College of Veterinary Medicine at Oregon State University, but it wasn’t just any ordinary birth; she gave birth to twin foals! The odds of twin foals being born are shockingly slim, and it is even less likely that twins will even SURVIVE. There is a 1 in 10,000 chance of twin foals being born alive, and just a 1 in 15,000 chance of them surviving the first few weeks!
OSU Veterinarian John Schlipf has been taking care of horses and helping with births for 30 years and says this was only the second time he has witnessed twin foals. These two brothers, Mocha and Cappuccino, will melt your heart with cuteness! At one-week-old they were doing well and already galloping around. Watch them in the video below:
