Senior dogs make the perfect companions. They are already potty trained and show us how to enjoy the little things in life, like naps. While we are so busy running around and wishing for more hours in the day, senior dogs teach us to slow down and live in the moment.
Tori Spelling welcomed a senior dog into the McDermott family. Sir Arthur is a 14-year-old mutt that the family adopted from Much Love Animal Rescue. The actress helps out at the shelter, where she met her new dog. Sir Arthur was abandoned at the shelter by his former owner by no fault of his own.
Spelling is a huge advocate for adopting and is now spreading awareness for adopting senior pets. She took to Instagram to announce the new family addition stating, “Introducing to The McDermott Family… Arthur Bear Reynolds McDermott or as Beau calls him: Artur.”
She goes on to say, “Senior dogs are hard to place. Everyone wants the puppy! But, think of the kindness you are showing being able to give a senior dog a forever home.”
