Army Veteran And College Graduate Receives Diploma With His Service Dog At His Side

Matthew Walbeck, an army veteran, did his family proud when he walked the stage to receive his college diploma from Texas A&M. But he couldn’t have accomplished all he had if it weren’t for his service dog, Titan.

Walbeck served two tours in Bosnia and now suffers from PTSD. Titan has been his lifeline and has been there through and through, accompanying Walbeck to every single class. Even as he walked the stage, Titan gently leaned into Walbeck to tell him it would all be alright.

Titan is happily at his side, wearing a matching cap and gown that Walbeck’s wife and daughter made for him (so cute!) Walbeck hopes that other veterans learn of his story and are inspired to pursue their dreams too.

These two make a pretty pawesome team, don’t you think? I hope more people see this and realize that no dream is that far out of reach, especially when you have a furry friend at your side helping you every step of the way! | Continuous News Coverage | Corpus Christi
