Pennsylvania SPCA Asks People To Donate $13 on December 13 To Local Shelters In #TaylorSwiftChallenge

Taylor Swift is known for her music and love of cats. She is the mother of three adorable felines, Benjamin Button, Meredith Grey, and Olivia Benson.

Meredith and Olivia are both Scottish folds who were adopted in 2011 and 2014. Benjamin the rescued Ragdoll cat joined the family in 2019.

They are often featured on her social media and Benjamin Button even made the cover of TIME magazine announcing Swift as their 2023 Person of the Year.

The magazine cover inspired Pennsylvania SPCA (PSPCA) to come up with their #TaylorSwiftChallenge to celebrate Swift’s birthday and to help animals in need.

“At the Pennsylvania SPCA we are using everyone’s favorite cat woman (she is a superhero after all), Taylor Swift, to help our pets,” the shelter posted on Facebook.

PSPCA is urging all of her fans and animal lovers to donate $13 on December 13 (Swift’s birthday and lucky number) to their local shelters.

In a post promoting the challenge, the shelter wrote, “This year has been particularly tough on shelters around the nation. Whether you’re a fan of the fellow cat-lover turned superstar or not, your donation would mean the world to animals in need.”

Shelters across the country and beyond are embracing the challenge and hope fans will too.

Bide Awhile in Canada is also participating in the challenge and even recreated the iconic cover photo with a shelter cat. Brilliant!
