South Korean Tattoo Artist Creates Adorable Portraits Of Dogs And Cats
Most of us have tattoos. When we got them, we probably didn’t think much about tattoo laws or anything like that – except for maybe not getting them done for free by a man in a van like in the film “Bridesmaids.”
But in South Korea, the laws are a bit more strict than in the states. While they’re not illegal, they are required by law to be done by a medical professional.
However, this doesn’t mean that plenty of tattoo shops have opened across the country, as the stringent law – which was originally created out of concern for public health over the spread of HIV and other diseases – is rarely enforced. In fact, the government is now open to policy change.
This is, of course, excellent news for all South Korean tattoo artists. And there is one tattoo artist in particular, who is gaining notoriety for their amazing artwork pieces.
Seoul-based artist, Jiran, is best known for turning pictures of people’s pets into wonderful works of art – and who tattooed among us doesn’t have at least one tattoo dedicated to our pets? Jiran’s style is typically more cartoonish rather than your more traditional detailed tattoo portraits.
Regardless, the works still has a major resemblance to the pet pictures, so much so that we want ones of our own! Thanks to a mix of collections from Bored Panda as well as Jiran’s Instagram, you can check out a few of the great pieces below:
