Athletic Kitty Navigates Challenging Obstacles Without A Second Thought

Cats are amazing creatures and they just seem to be able to do things that always take us by surprise. We might think that we have it figured out then suddenly, they are doing something we never saw before.

If you have a cat in your family, you are also likely aware of their specific abilities. That was the case for someone running the Sydney Chat TikTok account. They have an orange tabby in their family, and they knew they had the superpower of jumping.

Fortunately, they were taking videos of the event and were able to share them with others. It gave us the opportunity to see just what Sydney is able to do.

In the videos, they have a board with various size holes and obstacles. There are different types of shapes, each one being clearly marked on the board.

After Sydney passes through an obstacle, it is blocked. That usually leaves Sydney having to go through the narrowest obstacle at the end. Sometimes, it is a space no more than about 2 1/2 inches wide.

They do this to have fun but they also do it to give Sydney a challenge. Typically, a hole that is eight or 10 inches in diameter is available for Sydney to cross but it is higher on the barrier.

Sydney has to size things up, wondering if it is better to jump or to cross the smaller window down low.

It’s interesting to see Sydney as he sizes everything up and makes one decision after another. Perhaps the best part, however, is when he reaches the end.

Although the holes are already covered. Will Sydney try to squeeze through the smallest area?

Actually, he takes them all by surprise by leaping over the top of the entire obstacle. To keep Sydney from doing it again, they add another piece of cardboard on top.

Another time, Sydney gets down to the final options and ends up making an exit of its own. He tries to poke his head under the corner of the obstacle, but things don’t work out as planned.

Yet again, Sydney will try to go through different levels, collapsing the entire barrier in the process. The kitty may be able to size up different size holes, but it seems as if he doesn’t know how big he is.
