Surfing Dog Makes Teen’s Wish Come True
The Make-A-Wish Foundation is known for making dreams come true, and recently it did just that for a teen with an incurable disease. Caleb Acosta is a 15-year-old boy with stage 4 brain cancer, according to Dogster. He used his wish from the foundation to go surfing with a San Diego celebrity, Ricochet the “SURFice” dog.
Caleb uses a wheelchair and doesn’t have much strength in his lower body, so he had to ride the board laying down, according to the source. However, it turned out to be a great opportunity to surf on the same board as Ricochet.
“It’s something I never tried before,” Caleb told San Diego CW affiliate XETV.”I’ve never been able to use my legs that much, I just want to try it.”
Ricochet is known around the San Diego area(and the world) for his surfing antics and promoting awareness for human and animal causes. He has helped raise more than $300,000 for various projects. Ricochet also serves as an anti-bullying advocate and spokesdog for military and veterans with post traumatic stress disorder.
