This little kitten, named Sunshine, was taken in by Vet Ranch in bad shape. He was covered in fleas, very dirty, and his back legs were paralyzed.
Before he came to Vet Ranch, he was an outdoor cat and was sadly attacked by a stray male cat. Someone found him and took him to a vet, where they treated him and an abscess he had. He recovered and got better, until his back legs became paralyzed out of nowhere.
Since he hadn’t been using his back legs, the muscle tone shriveled up to barely anything. He also had a big lump that the vet drew a lot of puss out of. Once that infection healed up, the vet hoped that he would regain feeling in his back leg.
The continued to drain the lump, gave him antibiotics, and took great care of him. They gave him a much-needed bath and treated him for the fleas. He was so dirty that the water in the tub turned completely brown after they washed him in it.
The next day, the lump had filled back up with puss again. So the vet made a hole so that the lump would be able to continuously drain. The next day, the vet checked the lump again, and it hadn’t filled up. And best of all? The kitten was able to stand on his own for the first time!
Every day that passed by, Sunshine grew stronger and improved more and more. A few more days later, Sunshine was walking around! Eventually he was running around and playing like a normal kitten!
This once paralyzed kitten is now living up to his name. He certainly is a ray of Sunshine and is such a happy little kitty, and now a healthy one as well!
A big thanks to Vet Ranch for saving this little kitty. If he wasn’t taken in and treated properly, he could’ve been paralyzed for the rest of his life! His resiliency is inspiring and his transformation is incredible. Sunshine has come such a long way! Watch him in the video below:
