Bella and George spend every single day together in a loving relationship that transcends the disease that is limiting Bella’s life. Bella suffers from Morquio Syndrome, a progressive disease that doesn’t allow her body to break down certain sugars. It affects her bones as well as other metabolic systems.
Before George, Bella couldn’t get around on her own, unassisted. She relied on crutches or a wheelchair. But then one day, that all changed! She met George at The Service Dog Project in Ipswich, Massachusetts. The two had an immediate connection. Bella can now navigate life a little bit easier, making school and activities a lot more fun. George is always at her side, at the lunch table, during class, and of course, at night, in bed.
George is literally the “shoulder to lean on” for a little girl who’s mobility issues were limiting her everyday life. This beautiful story, and their beautiful relationship, won’t leave a dry eye in the house.
