Rescuers Spend Hours Saving Puppies From Crawl Space of Abandoned Home On One Of The Coldest Days Of The Year

Protective Animal Welfare Society in Kansas City, Missouri, received a call in January from a concerned resident about puppies who were living under an abandoned home and rushed to save them.

The puppies could not survive on their own in the below freezing temperatures, so rescuers were determined to rescue them all. However, the puppies were afraid and avoided being captured in the tight crawl space under the home.

Rescuers didn't give up and after four hours of crawling around in the cold they managed to capture all six puppies. The last puppy was the most difficult to catch, but after gentle coaxing and some quick movements by one of the rescuers, they were able to grab the "little stinker".

Everyone was exhausted but relieved that the puppies were finally safe. They searched the area for their mom, but she was nowhere in sight.

The rescue story was shared on the shelter's TikTok page with the caption, "Todays #rescuestory was one of our craziest yet."

Momma was spotted the following day and safely captured thanks to the help of another rescue group and trapper. She was so relieved to be warm and safe. After receiving a warm bath, she was reunited with her puppies.

The heartwarming reunion was shared on social media. Momma and all her puppies are looking for a foster home and will soon be available for adoption. The shelter shared that Momma is heartworm-positive and will need treatment.
