Timid, Affectionate Cat Needs Understanding Family to Help Him Come Out of His Shell

Our dear Issac at only a year old seems to be an old soul that can remember he really is still a kitten at heart!

He certainly inhabits a large adult body now, weighing in at 11 pounds something. Issac doesn’t realize that his trepidation to new situations or changes makes it hard for adopters to see his true being. Our team, of course, has fallen madly in love with Issac, once he has approved our advances on his terms!

He holds the street guard as an auto response, having needed it for survival. His mom did the best she could for her family, teaching him to be fearful. They were all finally brought to increased safety once they were trapped as a part of a TNR effort in their area.

We remember that survival instincts are hard to override, even when you do receive the royal care of foster-hood. It is hard to have that understood by some adopters, as they long to bond with their new family members. Issac needs a connection with someone or a family that understands his kitten-hood wiring may take over from time to time. He may even need longer to adjust than most cats or kittens.

He needs an adopter that will give him time. Please keep in mind that Issac was a good boy who followed his mom’s lead, which is now making it a bit harder for him. If given Issac parameters, we believe you, too, could meet the internal kitten that is true joy to spend time with.

Isaac and his three litter mates were born to a stray mama cat, and they were all living and trying to survive on the streets. Although they have been thriving in foster care, Isaac is shy in new situations. He will need a little time to feel safe and secure in his new home.

Once Isaac feels comfortable and trusts his human(s), he comes out of his shell and enjoys loads of affectionate human attention. He loves treats. He loves pets and will purr while rolling over and making air biscuits. He will bonk your hand and even drool in excitement.

Isaac is fine with other cats and kittens. He has not been exposed to dogs or children. He’s ready to find a home where he will be treated with patience, kindness, loving affection, and be given a chance to thrive. If you think you can provide that, you can apply to adopt him here!
