My husband and I live on a British compound in Saudi, and there are a few stray cats around. One night, my husband came back from the gym and this young (6-month-old tabby) cat followed him, so we kept it for the night. The next day, I noticed it had blood in its poo and he was going a lot, so I said put him outside as I didn’t really want a pet yet anyway.

Then a few days later, amazingly it started raining here (never happens usually) and I started feeling bad about tossing the cat out and wished I hadn’t. So I prayed about it, and the next day, we saw on the notice board someone had taken a photo of the cat we had and asked if someone owned it as they were looking after it but couldn’t keep it. So I rushed over and got him and gave him a big kiss.

He was so friendly and happy to see us, I felt so much better. We took him to the vet and found out he had colitis, which is not really dangerous, and now he is so happy. He is the light of my life. I know it’s going to be expensive (15K) to ship him home, which is why I didn’t want to get a cat from here, but we wouldn’t hesitate in spending it to ship him home as I love him so much.
