Rescue Parrot Mothers Tiny Abandoned Kittens

You never quite know what you are going to get when you rescue an animal. Perhaps that is why we often see the bumper sticker, “Who Rescued Who?”

In Brazil, a man named Josemar Milli has learned the power of rescuing animals firsthand. It started when he rescued a parrot and named him Louro.

One day, Milli started to notice some strange behavior from the bird. You see, they all lived on a farm, and for quite some time, Louro was hanging out near an old fence post.

The owner thought it was strange that the bird would act this way. In addition, she always slept at home but for three nights, she slept somewhere else. Milli went to see what was wrong.

That is when they found Louro protecting three kittens. It was a special moment, so he took a video to document it and shared it on TikTok.

It’s almost as if the bird is proud of the little kittens. Maybe she thinks they are her own.

Louro was rescued by the family in 2008. They spotted two birds on the ground and took the orphans home.

Once they were back on the farm, they were raised without cages and released into the wild. Louro decided to stick around.

Thankfully, the kittens were taken home so they could get the care they needed.

The bird continued to watch over the kittens at home.

When speaking with The Dodo, Milli said the spot in the fence post is her nesting spot but the cats took it over.

The kittens were abandoned by their mother, and they think that Louro was protecting them.

It seems as if the cats are now part of the family along with the parrot.
