Check Your Cabinets! Pet Food Recall Because of Salmonella!
On December 10th, the FDA announced that Bravo has voluntarily recalled select varieties of raw food blends. In a routine test, the Colorado State Department of Agriculture discovered the Salmonella in a 2-pound container of Bravo Chicken Blend diet. Bravo is recalling three additional items that were manufactured on the same day in order to best protect pets.
No pets have been reported ill as of yet, but if you feed your pet Bravo, check to see whether your product is recalled. If it is, you can return to the store you bought it at and submit the Bravo Recall Claim Form (the actual form comes after Bravo's letter and press release, on page 4).
The FDA reports that Salmonella can cause decreased appetite and abdominal pain, diarrhea, vomiting, fever, and more. Pets can be infected and without apparent symptoms, and unintentionally transmit the disease to humans. If you think your pet has eaten recalled food, or is suffering from these symptoms, you should definitely contact your veterinarian.
