Police Find Puppy Thrown From Car During High Speed Chase

When we have a dog in our life, we want to do everything we possibly can to keep them happy and healthy. Unfortunately, not everybody has that same feeling.

Perhaps it may even be a shock to you that some pet owners will harm their dog on purpose or would think nothing about doing something that would endanger the dog’s life.

Unfortunately, that was the case for one dog named Taho. He was thrown from a moving car during a high-speed police chase, which could have cost the young pup his life. Fortunately, there is a silver lining behind this dark cloud.

Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office deputies were chasing the vehicle. According to a Facebook post made by the Sheriff’s Office, the people inside the car had been suspected of carjackings and carrying weapons in Arden Hills, Minnesota.

This took place on February 1 at around 11 at night. They were driving the stolen truck and traveling the wrong way on the interstate at about 60 miles an hour.

As the police officers were chasing the truck, they saw something white being thrown from it. The Sheriff’s Office discussed that object, which they came to learn was a young pitbull that they named Taho.

The suspects were being chased because they were in a stolen vehicle, and the police thought they had shot somebody. In any case, they weren’t about to stop.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the suspects had attempted to carjack another victim who was pulled over on the side of the road. They showed a gun in this carjacking.

The deputies were behind them with their lights and sirens on, and it wasn’t long before they caught up to the suspects.

The Facebook post said: “The suspects still refused to stop and started driving the wrong way on Interstate 694,” the Office’s post continued.”

A deputy yelled for them to all watch out for a gun, and they quickly got out of the line of fire. The suspects had opened the door and thrown something out of the vehicle. It hit the highway and rolled into traffic.

After the deputies caught and arrested the suspects, they looked closer at the camera footage. They then learned that it was a puppy being thrown from the vehicle.

At first, they couldn’t find the puppy when they returned to the area, but they came with renewed zeal when they returned in the morning. They weren’t hopeful that they would find the dog because he was thrown from a moving vehicle.

Even though the dog had been thrown from a moving vehicle and was in freezing temperatures overnight, they were able to find him. He was on a snow bank with his tail wagging.

In speaking with a local news station, Sgt. Dan Young said: “He was happy-go-lucky. We even got him up in the van and he was licking us.”

They fed him a piece of pizza and said he was “very, very happy.”

After being taken to a veterinarian and treated for a broken leg and cuts, Tahoe was microchipped and is now in foster care. He has some medical bills, and they are using a fundraiser to help pay for them.

At some point, they would like Taho to find a forever family. They would like him to live out his days in luxury because they feel he’s earned it.
