30 Dogs Rescued From Puppy Mills Walk On The Ground For The First Time

A group of dogs rescued from puppy mills had the chance to experience freedom and walk on the ground for the first time after being rescued by the National Mill Dog Rescue.

The 30 dogs that were saved from puppy mills were transported to the Arizona Animal Welfare League & SPCA for recovery and adoption placement.

Going from a puppy mill to a place that loves and cares for you can be jarring given all that the dogs went through.

According to the Puppy Mill Project, there are an estimated 10,000 puppy mills in the United States that produce around 2 million puppies each year.

Unfortunately, the demand for dogs is too low to support the number of puppies being bred, and an estimated 1.2 million dogs are euthanized in shelters every year in the U.S.

Many people unknowingly support puppy mills by buying from pet stores, Craigslist, Facebook marketplace, and the like. The dogs are often kept in horrible circumstances, unable to leave their cages, and forced to breed until they can’t produce puppies any longer.

Sadly, many breeding dogs kept in puppy mills are simply discarded when they’re no longer profitable. Others, however, get a second chance at life thanks to organizations like the National Mill Dog Rescue.

In the video below, you can see the 30 rescue dogs walking around on solid ground and experiencing freedom for the first time in their lives. Many are running and playing, wagging their tails in delight. Others are unsure what to think, sitting or walking slowly and not moving much.

It’s exciting to know that all 30 of these dogs now have a brighter future ahead! Check out the video below:
