It’s pretty obvious that people love puppies. When one is in a room, people tend to gush over that puppy like it’s pure magic. And maybe a puppy is kinda magical. We get all warm inside and tend to forget about the bad things going on. Sounds like magic to me.
Puppies remind us that we all start out as innocent, naive creatures that have so much to learn. And learning is part of growing up. Each time a puppy learns something, he or she takes a step closer to becoming a dog. And we get to witness that! Kind of amazing, right?
That is why we never want to rush it! Even when your puppy has an accident or chews on something she shouldn’t, remind yourself that it all goes by so fast! Your puppy will eventually “get it” and all those days of learning will be in the past. It goes too fast, in my opinion. Just like it does with children.
So cherish it. Relish in their silly, clumsy behavior. Puppies can really make you smile ’til your face hurts.
