Here Are The World’s Most Popular Dog Names

3. England

According to the Independent, England’s trendiest dog names — Alfie, Charlie, Max, and Oscar for boys, and Poppy, Bella, Molly, and Daisy for girls — have one interesting factor in common; they’re equally popular with cats and babies.

2. Canada

Canadian dog-walking company Go Fetch polled our friendly northern neighbors for their favorite naming conventions, and the answers may surprise you. Bella, though apparently a very popular name for female dogs worldwide, was closely eclipsed by Stella, which makes sense for a country so near the North Star. Meanwhile, Zeus emerged as the most popular name for boys across the country, which clearly felt compelled to name their furry best friends for Greek mythology’s top dog.

1. USA

According to Today, America’s current list of top dog names isn’t entirely unique. Apparently, each of this year’s most popular names — Bella, Lucy, Max, Daisy, Buddy, Bailey, Molly, Charlie, Saddie, and Maggie — first started trending in 2015. However, we’re of the mind that recycling isn’t actually a bad thing, especially if you want to make sure your four-legged friend bears a name with some staying power.
