Swan Found Injured After Someone Shot It With An Air Pellet Gun

An injured bird has been found at Southmere Lake near Thamesmead and South London officers are looking for who did it. It seems as if somebody shot the swan with a pellet gun.

On Twitter, police officers from Greenwich shared pictures of the animal and urged people to contact them if they had any information.

A spokesperson for the force said: “A swan was found suffering an air pellet injuries at Southmere Lake 19/08/20. All wild birds are protected from killing/injury/taking & police are appealing for information to identify the person responsible. Crime ref 3911330/20. Contact 101.”

One user couldn’t hold back their anger when commenting on the post, saying: “Disgusting!! I hope you catch whoever did this.”

A second wrote: “Some evil s***s in this world.”
