Dog Rescue Stories: 14 Year Old Mr. Peabody Brown Found His Forever Home Two Years Ago

Proper greatergood_ctg_belowtitle

My name is Mr. Peabody Brown but my family calls me Peter! I was raised in the D.C. area but am retired in beautiful Charlottesville, Virginia.

I was initially rescued from a hoarding situation after eight years. I was rescued by a loving woman. After four years, she could no longer care for me for reasons out of her control. I was back in foster care through Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation until my current and forever mom rescued me!

At the time, my forever mom did not have the intention of adopting another dog. At 12 years old, I had a greying face, missing/crooked teeth, bad knees, an age spotted belly, and I was highly overweight (…not anymore)! My mom saw my need and took me in. We bonded immediately even though her family already had a three-legged, former street dog, a blind poodle, and a couple cats. After some time, we’ve all made an awesome pack.

Based on my social media accounts I have a lot of (sometimes rude) attitude and some silly, expressive faces. In reality, I am a total cuddle bug who is completely calm and loves napping. Since my adoption, my mom has vowed to stick to adopting senior dogs in order to allow them to live their final years to the fullest. I am almost 14 years old but based on my personality alone, you would never know. Here’s to many, many more!
