Rescue Dog Sees His New Dad After A Week Apart And Cannot Even Contain His Excitement

Mark O’Neil was away for just a week when he was reunited with his rescue dog, Patch. But to Patch, that week felt like an eternity. When O’Neil walked through the door, Patch went absolutely crazy, wiggling his body, wagging his tail, and showering O’Neil with a ton of kisses.

Patch, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, didn’t always have it so good. He lived life on the streets as a stray before police brought him to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals center in Lanarkshire, Scotland. That’s when O’Neil saw Patch and fell in love.

Since then, the two have developed an unbreakable bond. Patch has also made new doggy friends at the local park, and is friendly to everyone he meets.

O’Neil’s partner, Kerrigan Renniegade, hopes the video will help diminish the awful stigma that’s attached to the pit bull breed.

“I just really want everyone to see that it’s the way that you love and care for a dog that will determine who they grow to be and there are loads of dogs just like Patch waiting on their forever homes!” she told Inside Edition.”
