A woman and her family were out on the water enjoying their time together when they came across an Osprey bird who was drowning.
Ospreys are known for diving into the water to catch fish; so this poor little guy probably got stuck in the water after a dive went wrong. His feathers became soaked and he was struggling to stay above the water.
The woman saw the bird having a hard time and knew she had to help him. She got her boat close to him and held out her paddle so he could hop onto it and get out of the water. And without hesitation, that’s exactly what he did. He definitely knew this woman was helping him out.
The woman kept her head down in case the osprey tried to peck at her, but thankfully he didn’t. His claws were on the woman’s fingers though, and accidentally cut her, but she remained calm. They brought the bird closer to land and then nudged him off the paddle to encourage him to fly away. He flew away with ease and was clearly unharmed.
If it weren’t for this brave and kind-hearted woman, the poor osprey would have drowned. Thankfully she was nice enough to help, and the bird got his happy ending. Hopefully this little guy will be more careful the next time he’s trying to catch some food!
