News Crew Rescues Dog They Find Trapped Under A House While Reporting On Tornado Damage

A news crew reporting on tornado damage spotted a trapped dog and set out to rescue him!

According to KENS5, an EF1 tornado touched down in Laguna Heights, Texas on May 13, 2023. Sadly, one person was killed and 11 others were injured.

The tornado also destroyed many homes, and wreaked havoc in some neighborhoods.

ABC News crews were on the ground reporting on the damage from the tornado when one of them heard a dog crying from beneath a house.

ABC News reports that members of the news crew called animal control for help, but they didn’t want to wait for officers to respond. So, they set out to help the dog themselves.

Sound technician Jim Gower found a shovel and started digging under the house until he could get to the dog.

The dog was afraid to come out at first, but Jim calmy pet the talk and talked gently to him. Someone else on the crew found a meat stick and offered that to the distraught pup and it seemed to to do the trick in getting him out.

ABC 7 Chicago shared a video of the rescue with the caption: “An ABC sound technician got a shovel and started digging when security detail members heard a dog crying from under a home.”

In the end, they were able to free the dog successfully!
