Being sick is really ruff, especially when you’re a kid! Moxie is an adorable, sweet therapy dog that visits children in hospitals and gives them LOTS of furry love and support.
Through PetSmart’s Hope For Paws program at SickKids, Moxie gets the opportunity to bring some much needed smiles and wet kisses to children who can really use a boost. Studies have shown that animals like Moxie can relieve stress and are a great distraction during critical times like these. Just watch as each child smiles from ear to ear as soon as they see Moxie. Pawsome!
What do you think about therapy animals? Personally, I think they do wonderful things. I’ve seen cats and dogs in nursing homes comfort residents just by curling up with them on their beds. So sweet! I was lucky to meet a therapy dog named Zeus when I was a patient at Mount Sinai in New York. He came to see several patients and boy, was he a welcome distraction! Animals just have a way about them that is so calming. Don’t you agree?
Julie resides in Northern New Jersey with her two kids, two dogs, cat and partner. She has two published books which make excellent trivets if you aren't a fan of poetry. She tolerates people but LOVES animals. If she isn't blogging, she's most likely cuddling with her pups, Paisley and Skyler.
