Florida Brewing Company Is Putting Shelter Dogs On Beer Cans To Help Them Get Adopted
In Florida, there is a brewery that is working along with dogs and creating some of the cutest beer cans ever made.
Motorworks Brewing in Bradington is including the face of different shelter dogs on a special edition four-pack of one of their beers. Each of the dogs on the cans is looking for a forever home.
Shelter Manatee is the recipient of the proceeds. Morton and King, two of the dogs featured on the cans have already been adopted according to Barry Elwonger, director of sales and marketing for the company.
“The response so far has just been incredibly overwhelming,” Elwonger said. “The community is just in love with the project, as are we. The outreach has just been fantastic, which is the point of the project – to raise that awareness. We’ve been over the moon the last couple of days.”
According to Elwonger, 200 of the four packs have been sold by the brewery as of Thursday evening. He feels as if it will not be a problem for them to sell the 450 four-packs they set as a target. The beer that was selected for the promotion is the Cruiser Golden Lager.
“We’re planning on brewing a lot more of it,” Elwonger said.
Elwonger said that Motorworks opened six years ago and every third Sunday they have held a dog-related event. The specialty beer, ‘Adoptable Dog’ Was Part of the ‘Yappy Hour’ release.
“We know that we’re driving eyes toward the shelter and finding these dogs homes,” Elwonger said.
He said, “The dog love is pretty much across our entire company and is something that is near and dear to our hearts, our leadership’s hearts and has always been in mind with our ethos as a company.”
