Mother Elephant Asks Humans To Help Save Her Baby

When a mother elephant ran into the road to look for help, people were naturally afraid of her.

Elephants are often listed among the most dangerous animals in the world, killing an estimated 500 people each year, according to Science Alert.

When motorists saw the elephant approaching, they called the authorities according to Nature and Heritage.

Authorities responded, but they also feared the elephant would cause harm to someone, so they tried to scare her away with smoke – but the mother elephant reminded undeterred.

The mother elephant refused to leave the area, even as smoke bombs were set off around her.

Eventually, the authorities decided to follow the elephant and that’s when they discovered the problem. Her calf had fallen in a muddy pit and became trapped!

The authorities realized the mother was trying to get help for her baby and she ended up doing the right thing. People were able to work together to create a flat spot in the mud for the baby elephant to crawl out of the pit.

It was hard work, but it all ended up worth it in the end because the mother and baby were reuntied.
