Monkey’s House, A Hospice For Senior Dogs, Is Doing Things Shelters Can’t
Not having a forever home is hard enough. For a senior dog or a dog with health issues, spending their remaining days in a shelter or a pound, with cold floors and loud, barking dogs is certainly not ideal. In fact, it’s the last thing animal lovers want to witness. So, Monkey’s House was created! A hospice for seniors and dogs with health complications.
Monkey’s House is located in Burlington County, New Jersey. It was founded by Jeff and Michele Allen. After the loss of their beloved dog, Monkey, the Allens turned their small farm into a place that can help do the things many facilities cannot.
According to Michele Allen: “We are thrilled at the way things are moving forward. We have met some incredible people along this journey and are so very appreciative of their help. Each and every one of the dogs is extremely precious and has added something to Monkey’s House. Monkey would be thrilled, we know he is at the Rainbow Bridge greeting his friends as they join him.”
Pretty incredible, right? Thank you to the Allens and all the volunteers! They are making so many things possible that weren’t before!
