When His Girlfriend Moved In And Wanted The Dog Gone, This Man Stunned Her With An Adoption Notice On CraiglistMatthew Russell
Dogs can bring joy and comfort to our lives, along with unconditional love and slobbery kisses. It’s beyond us why anyone would ever want to show a furry friend like that the door.
But that’s the ultimatum a man in Roanoake, Virginia, was given by his girlfriend after the couple moved in together.
At the center of their situation was Molly, a 4-year-old beagle. The woman wanted Molly out, while her boyfriend, Reddit user Getzen, Little Things reports, couldn’t bear to part with her.
Was there a way that he could make them both happy? A way to appease the canine-cross girlfriend, and still keep Molly in the house?
The short answer: No.
The slightly longer answer: No, but Craigslist offered a simple alternative.
The man had a decision to make, and from the way his adoption listing reads, it doesn’t sound like it was very tough choice.
“My girlfriend does not like my beagle, Molly, so I have to re-home her,” the notice begins. “She is a purebred from a wealthy area and I have had her 4 years. She likes to play games. Not totally trained. Has long hair, so she’s a little high-maintenance, especially the nails, but she loves having them done. Stays up all night yapping but sleeps while I work. Only eats the best, most expensive food. Will NEVER greet you at the door after a long day or give you unconditional love when you’re down. Does not bite, but she can be mean as hell!”
Moving in together can certainly bring out challenges in a relationship. For this couple, and by that we mean the man and his dog, fostering a girlfriend for a short period has only brought them closer.
“Anyone interested in my 30-year-old, selfish, wicked, gold-digging girlfriend?” the man’s post continued. “Come and get her! Me and my dog want her re-homed ASAP!!”
While he may not have too much trouble meeting someone new, it’s obvious this man will never meet anyone as special as Molly. Likewise, there are shelter dogs all across the country that are just waiting for the right person to come along and recognize them for the loving and kind creatures they are.
You can’t adopt them all, but there’s a way you can help.
