This Blind And Deaf Poodle Gets Through Each Day With The Help Of Her 3 Doggy Sisters
Margaux the nine-year-old Poodle was not feeling well, and her owners thought she had a snake bite. She had a bad infection on her paw, but they couldn’t tell what it was from.

They brought Margaux to a specialist in Boise, Idaho, and after a couple of visits, they finally got the answers they’ve been searching for. It turns out that Margaux had a disease called diffuse pyogranulomatous inflammation, a disorder that affects your immune system.

Her paw eventually got better, but then the disease spread to other parts of her body. At times, she seemed perfectly healthy, and at others, it affected her badly. In time, the disease came to her eyes. One got so bad that it needed to be removed. Sadly, it happened to the other eye too, leaving her without either eye.

And the worst part of all? They found out that Margaux had also become deaf. The Poodle who was once happy and healthy without a care in the world was now blind and deaf. But thankfully, she has an amazing family — of humans and dogs — to help her through it.

Her doggy siblings walk Margaux on her leash. Literally. They take turns holding the leash in their mouth as they guide their sister down the road. They are basically her seeing eye dogs.

Although Margaux can’t see or hear, she can still feel all of the love she’s been receiving. She still acts like any other dog, and is living her life to the fullest.

Her owners think she uses a kind of echolocation (like how bats get around) to help her navigate. “As far as we can tell, she barks not just when she wants something,” Jordan, her owner, told The Dodo.

Through all of these tough times, Margaux still sports a smile on her face from ear to ear.
