Cats and birds are often viewed as natural enemies, and it’s usually the cat that’s doing the instigating (Tweety bird and Sylvester James Pussycat, anyone?)
That makes sense considering cats are predators and birds are prey animals, but it doesn’t always work out that way.
In fact, one bystander managed to capture on video a hilarious moment when a magpie “stalked” an unsuspecting cat!
The magpie was sitting on the fence post acting casual as a cat strolled past below. Without missing a beat, the bird hopped onto the floor and followed the cat from a distance, clearly intent on keeping up with the feline.
However, the cat seemed to notice the bird’s presence and quickly turned to catch him – only to find the bird casually looking away, minding his own business.
As soon as the cat turned back around to keep walking, the magpie was at it again, closely following!
The moment unfolded in Plymouth and it’s incredible to watch. It’s like something straight out of a movie but it played out in real life!
The video was shared with ViralHog and you’re definitely going to want to give it a watch.

What a bold bird!
