This Racetrack Greyhound Slows Down for His Final Laps As He Lapses Into Retirement — Now if We Can Just Retire the Rest of Them Too!

After years on the track, greyhounds slow down and start to lose more races, or (as is often the case) they will suffer an injury and can no longer race. After they are forced into retirement, greyhounds are most often sent to shelters, with the hope that they will be adopted. Today’s Dog of the Day, Magilla, is one of the lucky former racers who was never injured, and who, after retirement, was adopted into a loving family.
