Faithful Dog Won’t Stop Waiting For OwnerLittleThings
The older a dog gets, the less likely it is to be adopted. So, as shelter dogs age, the odds of them finding a good home become more and more slim.
People tend to want puppies when looking for a new dog for their family. The younger the dog, the easier it will be to train and the longer amount of time you get to spend with them as they grow old.
It’s a very common train of thought, and it makes sense to think about bringing home a new dog in this way.
However, this leaves plenty of wonderful animals without a home simply because they didn’t get a great start in life.
But, as anyone who’s adopted a dog rather than a puppy will tell you, there is so much these animals can offer a family. They’re more mature and the wildness of puppyhood is gone, leaving them more composed and relaxed.
And, as the video below is about to show you, it is possible to teach an old dog new tricks. All it takes is a little bit of time and care.
Jackson, a 3-year-old golden retriever who is newly adopted, has learned one of the most impressive skills I’ve ever seen in a dog.
And he did so well after puppyhood and in less than a month. It really is amazing!
