Bulldog Rescued From Meat Market Is So Happy With Life That His Tongue Constantly Hangs OutLittleThings
This adorable bulldog was this close to becoming someone’s meal, but now he’s living his Best Life.
Rudy the bulldog spent his puppyhood in Harbin, China. He and many other pups were eventually loaded onto a truck and driven to a slaughterhouse. But a local charity, Slaughterhouse Survivors, intercepted the truck just five minutes before it reached its destination.
Rudy made his way all the way to California, where he now lives with Kelli O’Neill and Scott Eric Olivier. He’s a goofy, fun-loving dog. Every time he hears his toys squeak, his tongue falls out of his mouth!
“Rudy loves to chase toys and we believe his tongue is the first thing his body activates when he’s excited,” Kelli told reporters.
His long tongue also makes a big mess when he eats or drinks. But it’s totally worth it for all the love he gives in return.
Kelli says Rudy’s different appearance and difficult puppyhood make it hard for him to get along with other dogs. “But he is a hit with humans,” she said.
It’s hard to imagine, but Rudy’s appearance is part of what led him to the slaughterhouse in the first place.
“After piecing together what information they gave us, we discovered that Rudy was thrown out into the streets from what is believed to be a breeding location because he was too ugly,” Kelli said.
Now Rudy is practically a local celebrity because he and his floppy tongue are so cute.
“People are constantly taking his picture and holding up traffic.”
