Man With Broken Leg Spends $400 On Vet Visit To Figure Out His Limping Dog Was Copying Him

Have you ever noticed that you continue to get closer and closer to your dog as the years go by? We may start out very close to them at first and we feel as if we are two peas in a pod. Before long, however, that bond goes even deeper, and sometimes it takes on the strangest appearance.

Nobody knows this better than Russell Jones. He had a lurcher named Billy whom he absolutely loves and the two of them are inseparable. In fact, Jones continued to take Billy for walks, even after he fell down and broke his ankle.

It was while they were on the walk that Jones saw Billy doing something rather strange. Billy was limping and he could hardly put his left foot on the ground.

This really concerned Jones, so he decided to take the dog to the veterinarian and find out what was wrong.

A video was posted on Facebook that showed Jones walking down the street with his faithful lurcher, Billy, by his side.

Billy was walking with his left paw lifted from the ground, looking pathetic as he could barely walk and was limping terribly.

After visiting the veterinarian, they had to shell out $400 for two different visits along with x-rays and painkillers. They still didn’t have an answer to the problem, so the veterinarian said there was nothing they could do.

According to the People’s Pet Awards, when Jones brought Billy home, he couldn’t get the thought out of his mind that his dog was suffering. Jones decided to run a little experiment. He sent Billy out into the garden with his wife and the two of them were playing with no sign of any limping.

That is when it hit Jones. Billy wasn’t hurt, he was being sympathetic. He knew that his owner was in a cast, so he was going to limp as well.

Interestingly, things went full circle about a month later. Jones had posted another video that showed the two of them walking together on the sidewalk. This time, however, Billy had his dewclaw removed and was limping for real. Jones was faking.

Unfortunately, Billy would pass away about a year later. He had cancer and Jones went on Facebook to let everyone know that his beloved dog had died.

What is amazing, however, is that Billy brought so much love and laughter into so many lives while he was here. We will miss you, Billy.
