Bakari the leopard was bred to take selfies with tourists. Then he was abandoned when he was just two months old. Many of these cubs that are bred just for selfies wind up dying or end up at roadside zoos.
Thankfully Bakari’s fate was much better than that. He was rescued and brought to Four Paws’ Felida Sanctuary in Africa, where he’ll live in peace for the rest of his life.
“We want nothing more than to give him a new life…Africa is where he belongs,” said Simone Schuls, sanctuary manager.
Bakari is finally happy and living the life he deserves. He gets to roam the sanctuary and roll around in the soft grass instead of being kept in a cage. Thankfully he will now always be with people who love him and treat him right.
