Police Rescue Kitten From Texas Highway Grate

On eastbound Interstate 20 in Fort Worth, Texas, a tiny kitten was crying for help. The little guy had gotten stuck in a storm drain and was wet, cold, and confused as traffic rushed by.

Fortunately, someone spotted him before he got trapped behind the grate, and called authorities for some help.

Two officers arrived on the scene and were able to slowly coax the kitten from his spot — he was hesitant at first, afraid that they were trying to hurt him.

Fortunately, the kitten gave in eventually and decided to trust the officers. They were then able to take him from the area.

“Officers and Animal Control brought the little kitten to safety and he is now in good hands at the Chuck Silcox Animal Care & Control Center,” the Fort Worth Police Department wrote on Facebook.

The Police Department decided to let their Facebook followers vote on a name for the kitten, and it was soon decided he would be dubbed Alexander (the Grate)!

No doubt, he won’t be at the shelter for long before being adopted out. He’s an adorable little guy.

Things for the kitten could’ve ended poorly being so close to the gutter and the road, but thanks to the officers, he’s got a great shot at living an awesome life with a loving family.
