Every Morning A Horse Takes Herself For A Walk Through The Streets Of FrankfurtAndrea Powell
Frankfurt, Germany is known for its food, towering skyline and Jenny, a horse that roams the streets alone on her morning walks.
The locals are used to seeing the friendly horse. Everyday Jenny walks on the same route, and has done so for the past 14 years. The routine started when she used to take the same path with her owner, now 79-years-old, who used to ride her. Now that her owner no longer rides, she still enjoys a stroll through town.
She greets familiar and new faces and causes no trouble. Keith Anderson posted on Facebook, “Every morning in Frankfurt, Germany, you might catch a glimpse of Jenny, a horse who goes on a long walk every morning, all by herself.”
He went on to say, “She enjoys greeting all of the familiar faces along the way, and she stops and gets treats and pettings from some of her favorite humans. The locals treat her like a celebrity and happily clean up after her.”
To put worried minds as ease, Jenny has a piece of paper attached to her halter that says, “My name is Jenny. I didn’t run away, I’m just walking. Thank you.”
People who are not used to seeing Jenny have called the police concerned that a horse had escaped from her pasture. However, the police are aware of Jenny and do not mind. “They are very familiar with the horse and the owner, and there have been no incidents in 14 years.”
Jenny is still in great health. “A local veterinarian gives her routine checkups and continues to find her to be healthy and showing no anxiety about her unique lifestyle,” posted Anderson.
The post has gone viral with over 500K likes. One person wrote, ” Awwwww!!! What a character! ❤️💕 And what a great town that allows this to happen.” Another said, “Beautiful story! ❤️ If I let my ponies loose they’d be in people’s houses and gardens eating everything and terrorizing people 🙈.”
