This rescue goat, named Mr. G, was rescued from a hoarder and taken in by Animal Place, a sanctuary for farmed animals. His friend, a donkey named Jellybean, was also rescued from the same hoarder, but wound up going to a different rescue.
Mr. G was very depressed when he arrived at the sanctuary. Although he wasn’t with the hoarder anymore and was in much better hands, he was without his best friend. He was so upset that he wouldn’t eat or go outside for six days.
The sanctuary hated seeing him like this, so they knew there was only one thing that they had to do to make things better for Mr. G. That’s when they drove 14 hours to get Jellybean and reunited the two of them.
Mr. G recognized him right away and instantly perked up. He was so happy to have his best friend back. He went back to eating and going outside and was now his normal self.
The Beatles said it best: we get by with a little help from our friends, and Mr. G was definitely better off without his donkey friend by his side! The best part is that the two of them will now spend the rest of their lives together at Animal Place.
Animal Place is one of the oldest and largest sanctuaries for farmed animals in the country. It’s located on 600-acres in Grass Valley, California, and is a permanent home for hundreds of neglected animals. They also have a 60-acre adoption center which helps needy farmed animals find homes.
