10 Reasons #ChristmasDogsOfInstagram Is Our New Favorite Holiday Tradition

Most people agree the holidays are a magical time of year — the glittering holiday trees, the gathering of far-flung friends and family, the ubiquitous cheer, the charming markets, and of course, all that delicious food. Fortunately, the rise of the internet has given us one more tradition we can get behind — adorable dogs in Christmas sweaters and other festive gear.

Such cuteness can be found around the virtual world, but #ChristmasDogsofInstagram is by far one of the best places to celebrate your love of dogs with festive spirit. The hashtag has already been revived for Christmas 2018, and it’s already become one of our favorite things about this holiday season!

10. Bella

Bella is a Goldendoodle living in Houston, Texas, where her adorable antics (which feature lots of guest appearances by other adoptable dogs) have already amassed thousands of Instagram followers. In this picture, Bella is posing with a foster dog named Arby, who — according to the comments on this photo — doesn’t apparently share Bella’s natural ease in front of the camera quite yet.

9. Gary Von Schnitzel

This 3-year-old Schnauzer has a thing for bandanas and beaches, judging from his Instagram account, which he shares with his brother Kevin. But these fraternal young Schnauzers don’t need to know about snow to get in the holiday spirit, hence Gary’s stylish neckerchief speckled with Santa Koalas.

8. Kristo & Cooper

According to their owner, these Florida rescues don’t love dressing up for Christmas, but you’d never know it from this adorable photo.

J. Swanson is a writer, traveler, and animal-enthusiast based in Seattle, an appropriately pet-crazed city where dog or cat ownership even outweighs the number of kids. When the weather permits, she likes to get outside and explore the rest of the Pacific Northwest, always with a coffee in hand.
