A Retired War Dog Is Ready To Be In His Forever Home With His Handler…Watch Their Reunion Here!

Get ready for a story that’ll turn any frown upside down!

Ikar, a tactical explosion detection dog (TEDD), worked very hard alongside his handler, Army Specialist Vance McFarland. However, when it was time for McFarland to return home, he had to do so without Ikar. It was understood that Ikar would continue to work with a private contract company but wires were crossed and he ended up locked away in a kennel in Virginia. Then abandoned. Sadly, he remained there for 17 months.

Thankfully the dogs were rescued and some sleuth detectives with Mission K9 Rescue wanted to reunite Ikar with his original handler. They used Facebook to find McFarland. Watch as these two soulmates are finally reunited at the airport. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house! Ikar and McFarland should be commended for their fine service and greatly deserve a bit of leisure living… Together! Wouldn’t you say? Thank you both, Ikar and McFarland, for your fine, brave service!
