Dog Rescue Stories: Igor Slept In A Gutter for Over 10 Years
Igor was neglected, abused, and abandoned on the street in front of his house. He slept curled up in the gutter of a very busy road for over 10 years.
Thankfully, Bali Dog Rescue Squad found him in November 2016 and his life began to change. He barely had any teeth and was suffering from chronic Malassezia Dermatitis, a fungus found on the skin and ears. Igor had very little positive interaction with humans for the 10 plus years he was living in the gutter, so he had to be socialized before he could find a forever home.
Alison Gray, the founder of Bali Dog Rescue Squad, had a strong connection with Igor, and eventually adopted him in March 2017. Now, he receives anti-inflammatory medication to reduce any swelling when it rains, gets a weekly medicated bath, skin exfoliation every other day, and fish oil supplements for his skin. Every week, Alison sees slight improvements in his physical and mental health.

Igor is beyond happy in his forever home, and enjoys going on walks twice a day, basking in the sun and curling up in bed with his forever mom. He’s the King of the castle and very smart. He’s learned that the best way to earn treats is to stick his nose up in the air and look ridiculously adorable while his mom cooks in the kitchen.
