Homeless Dogs Afraid Of Being Rescued Make An Incredible Transformation

When Hope For Paws received word about two dogs on the streets of California, they knew they wanted to help.

When rescuers arrived at the scene, they found two small dogs, covered in matted fur and terrified of people. It was clear these dogs had been living on the streets for quite some time, given their thick mats and desperate need of grooming.

Many dogs in Southern California who end up on the streets once had a home. They may not know how to fend for themselves, and just long for a family to love them again.

It seems that was the case for these two little pups. They appeared to be relatively young given the health of their teeth, but they’d lived through more than any dog should have to. It’s unclear what their life before being rescued looked like, but given their distrust of humans, it likely wasn’t great.

Using a hamburger, the rescuers with Hope For Paws carefully tried to lure the dogs closer without scaring them away. It was clear that the dogs wanted the hamburger desperately, but they were not happy about being approached by humans.

The dogs both showed their teeth and let out warning snarls, but ultimately, the rescuers were able to get a snare around each of their necks.

Once both dogs were secured with a leash, they got to enjoy the hamburger before being taken in for an examination and much-needed grooming.

Once the dogs had been given a haircut and bath, they were hardly recognizable! They lost so much mass from the matted fur being clipped away, it’s hard to believe it’s the same dogs.

Once the dogs were all cleaned up and realized they were safe, it seems their attitudes changed greatly. They were no longer apprehensive about humans, but excited!

Hope For Paws transferred the little dogs to Fox and Hound Rescue where they were adotped into loving forever homes.
